Full list of road closures, service delays due to AMGEN Tour
Monterey city officials remind residents that the Amgen Tour of California will be coming into town on May 14, prompting a number of road closures and delays in transit service.
The following road closures will be in effect on that day:
Tunnel southbound from Pacific Grove to Monterey will close from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Traffic will be detoured onto Pacific Street.
Franklin St., from Calle Principal to El Estero, closed 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Del Monte Avenue southbound, from El Estero to Hannon, will be closed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Polk and Calle Principal, between Jefferson and Madison streets, will close at 9 a.m. Alvarado Street, from Pearl to Del Monte, will close for the farmers’ market the day before race, May 13th, and will remain closed until 3 p.m. on race day.
The race will also cause delays and cancellations for the Monterey-Salinas Transit bus service between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The following lines will experience delays:
JAZZ B Aquarium – Sand City via Broadway Line 1 Asilomar – Monterey Line 2 Pacific Grove – Del Monte Center Line 3 CHOMP Line 12 The Dunes Line 20 Monterey – Salinas Line 24 Grapevine Express Line 55 San Jose Express Line 75 Presidio – Marshall Park Express Line 91 Sand City
Due to street closures, there will be no bus service on Del Monte Avenue from downtown Monterey to Hannon; Franklin Street from Calle Principal to El Estero; Alvarado Street from Pearl to Del Monte; and the Lighthouse Tunnel in the Seaside-bound direction.
The following bus stops will not be in service:
