Santa Cruz County deputies make arrest in December burglary

Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies say they arrested a woman Wednesday in connection with a December burglary and car crash.

Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle burglary on Highway 1 the afternoon of December 28. Shortly after, a woman later identified as Genevra Migliore was involved in a car crash on Mission Street in Santa Cruz.

After the crash, deputies say Migliore gave a fake name to the other driver and presented a stolen driver’s license. The other driver suspected it was stolen and took a photo of Migliore holding the license.

Eventually deputies were able to link Migliore to the burglary and crash using the photo provided by the other driver to analyze Migliore’s fingerprints.

She was arrested Wednesday for felony burglary and identity theft.
