Seaside man sentenced in robbery, attempted rape at massage parlor
A Seaside man who broke into a Monterey spa and tried to sexually assault a woman inside is headed to state prison for eight years.
Jorge Mauricio Dominguez, 31, pleaded no contest last month to felony charges of rape, first-degree burglary, second-degree burglary and attempted second-degree burglary.
Prosecutors say that in January Dominguez unsuccessfully tried to break into a Casanova Street massage parlor and then crossed the street and broke into the Sundance Spa. Inside, he found a woman resting in her private bedroom.
Dominguez grabbed the woman and removed her clothes, but she managed to escape through a side door and ran naked into the street. Dominguez fled nearby to Peninsula Pool Services where he broke in to hide out, and stole items from the business.
