CHP investigating deadly hit-and-run accident in Santa Cruz
California highway patrol are investigating a hit-and-run accident that happened just before midnight Friday night on Soquel Drive West of North Rodeo Gulch.
Officers say a bicyclist fell into the roadway and was eventually hit by the driver of a Mazda Sedan, who eventually fled the scene.
Officers say the bicyclist was transported to a San Jose hospital, where he later died.
A damaged hubcap was found at the scene and anyone with information regarding the suspected Mazda vehicle is urged to call CHP immediately.
