Fairfield man convicted of trying to arrange sex with teen

A Fairfield man was convicted Wednesday of trying to arrange a meeting with a minor for sexual purposes.

Donald Threatt, 65, responded on Oct. 12 to a Craigslist ad posted by a Monterey County Sheriff’s deputy posing as a 15-year-old girl. The ad was posted as part of Operation Mama Bear in Monterey County.

Threatt asked the pretend teenager to perform sexual acts and he eventually arranged a meeting with her.

Threatt faces a maximum sentence of four years and four months in state prison when he is sentenced on June 3. He’ll also be required to register as a sex offender for life.
