Pacific Grove to get high-speed Internet
The city of Pacific Grove has inked a deal with SiFi Networks to bring high speed Internet to the area.
PG will be one of two cities in the state testing the company’s new kind of Internet infrastructure. Essentially, the company will build a fiber optic network throughout the city. It will include SiFi’s special wastewater fiber technology, or WFT, which runs fiber cables through the sewer networks already in place.
Once complete, SiFI officials say the the infrastructure will be leased to service providers and could result in bringing speeds of up to 100 times faster Internet than is currently available in PG.
