1 injured after truck goes off roadway in Watsonville

A man had to be extricated from his truck Tuesday afternoon after he drove off the roadway in the Hecker Pass area.

Emergency personnel had to use the Jaws of Life to tear the roof off the truck to get the man out. He was transported by air to a Bay Area trauma center in critical condition, authorities said.

A paramedic on the scene suffered from dehydration while working on the accident victim and was treated on scene.

Portions of Highway 152 were closed while crews responded to the accident.
