Former Marina couple arrested for child abuse after son’s death
Two former residents of Marina were arrested this week on charges stemming from the death of their 19-month-old son.
Marina detectives arrested Brandon Kenney, 33, and Christina Kenney, 31, Tuesday on suspicion of felony child abuse at their residence in Tacoma, Washington.
Marina police were assisted by members of the Tacoma police department.
The arrest comes after an extensive, six-month investigation into the death of the couple’s son, according to Marina Police Commander Bob Nolan.
The Kenneys left California and moved to Washington shortly after their son’s death. The pair are awaiting extradition to Monterey County to face felony child abuse charges.
Nolan says other charges resulting from the Marina Police Department’s death investigation are pending review with the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office.
