Woman taken to hospital after being hit by car

A woman was taken to Dominican Hospital then flown to a Bay Area trauma center with minor injuries after she was hit by a car Wednesday night.

California Highway Patrol says it happened on Brommer Street and Seventh Avenue just after 7 p.m.

Witnesses say the woman was crossing Seventh Avenue when the car had the right of way when he turned from Brommer onto Seventh and hit her. Several witnesses said the sun was in such a position that the glare could have been in his eyes.

One person who saw it happen told Central Coast News he saw the woman bounce off the hood and land on the pavement. He also blocked traffic until emergency crews arrived.

No word at this point on any charges against the driver.
