Rewards offered in slain ducks case in Salinas
Authorities are seeking whoever is responsible for shooting more than a dozen ducks outside the California Welcome Center in Salinas this week.
Cathy Martin Silvey found 11 ducks dead when she came in to work Tuesday morning. Two more ducks were injured.
The injured ducks were apparently shot. They were taken to the SPCA’s Veterinary Clinic for treatment. One of them, nicknamed Tubby, is apparently doing very well.
SPCA officials believe two people were involved in harming the ducks, shooting them with a pellet gun. A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individuals responsible for hurting the animals.
Anyone with information about the case should call the SPCA at 373-2631 or make a report online.
