Regional officials want you to track your bicycle routes

The Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments wants to know where you are biking.

A new website called Cycle Tracks Monterey Bay is being used to track residents’ bicycle routes in an effort to improve future transportation planning.

To add your route to their research, visit the website and click on “log a ride.” Enter your address, map out your route using pin points and then click finish.

You’ll then be prompted to answer a couple of survey questions.

Recording your routes and your trip details will help the region’s planners and decision makers gain a better understanding of what factors influence the routes Monterey Bay residents choose to bike along. That in turn will help with making better and more investments when it comes to improving conditions for cyclists.
