Police advise of dangerous felon on the loose

Morgan hill police are on the look out for 37-year-old Gerardo Betancourt, a man described as armed and dangerous.

Police say officers were conducting an investigation at the Executive Inn on Condit road Tuesday morning, when an officer spotted the wanted felon. Police say Betancourt then took off leading police on a pursuit onto Highway 101.

According to police, Betancourt eventually pulled his car over to the shoulder of the freeway and proceeded to dart through traffic on foot to get away. Eventually, police say, Betancourt managed to evade police over a 12-foot sound wall.

Police urge anyone to call with information if you know his whereabouts as he is considered armed and dangerous.
