Police: Teen robs woman at knifepoint in Salinas

A 15 year old boy is in juvenile custody accused of robbing a woman at knifepoint.

Salinas police say the boy waited for the victim to leave her work on East Alisal Street Thursday night. As soon as she exited, the boy allegedly grabbed her, knocked her to the ground and took off with her purse. During the course of the robbery, police say the boy was armed with a 12-inch buck knife. According to investigators, several people witnessed the crime and chased after the boy until police arrived. The victim’s property and the knife were both recovered. The suspect was booked in juvenile hall on robbery charges.
