Guilty plea in Santa Cruz County bank robbery

A day before his trial was slated to begin, a man admitted he robbed Wells Fargo Bank in September 2013.

Darren Lee Davis admitted he entered the Wells Fargo Bank at 1975 Soquel Drive on Sept. 20, 2013 wearing a disguise and demanded money from three separate tellers. After receiving money, Davis fled.

Davis was apprehended and arrested nine days later, according to Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies.

Davis is expected to be sentenced to seven years in state prison on April 17.
