Homicide in bar parking lot in Salinas

Salinas police are investigating a homicide that happened in the parking lot of a bar on 238 Williams Road early Saturday morning.

Police say they were responding to initial reports of a bar fight, but when officers arrived they found several people standing around 36-year-old Isaias Edeza, who had been shot. He later died from his injuries.

Police say initial statements make them believe that Edeza was in a verbal confrontation before being shot, but there are no suspect descriptions right now. Police do not believe this is a gang-related homicide.

With the amount of people who were present in the parking lot at the time of the homicide, the Salinas Police Department is asking for anyone to come forward if they have any information.
