Race to clear Aptos Road nearing finish line

The race is on to clear Soquel drive of a tree, knocked down just after 9:30 this morning. It took down power lines with it.

PG&E crews wrapped up its’ work just before 5 Friday aftenroon and power had been restored to customers in the area. At that time, a company was called in to cleanup what remained of the tree.

Cell phone companies were also on scene fixing wires that affected reception.

California Highway Patrol told Central Coast News it hoped to have at least one lane open Friday night.

All traffic is being re-routed to Highway 1.
