Watsonville Police Cite 9 Employees For Selling Alcohol To Minors

Nine employees from seven retail businesses licensed by the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) were cited for furnishing or selling alcohol to a minor in Watsonville on Saturday.

Watsonville police said they worked with ABC on the operation after receiving a grant from ABC.

Citations and police reports will be filed by the Santa Cruz County District Attorney’s Office.

The project will continue through June.

The Watsonville Police Department is offering local business owners with alcohol licenses and/or their employees to attend a free four-hour LEAD (Licensee Education on Alcohol and Drugs) seminar. The next one will take place on Tues., March 18, at the City of Watsonville Community Room located on the 4th floor of the Civic Plaza, 275 Main Street.
