Rescue Helicopters Find Fisherman’s Body Near Big Sur
A man in his 30s is dead after he and his friend were washed from their fishing boat off Point Sobrantes by an unexpected wave.
A rescue helicopter found the Hispanic man’s body about 200 yards off shore around 10:30 Saturday morning after his friend made it back to shore for help.
Monterey County sheriff’s deputies told Central Coast News the man was having trouble with his line and was attempting to fix it when the wave washed over them.
