Bus Accident Causes Road Closures in Downtown Santa Cruz
Emergency crews were in the area of Pacific Avenue and Cathcart Street for a traffic accident involving a bus Monday afternoon.
Officers said a Santa Cruz City Metro bus hit a man while he was trying to cross the street. Investigators are trying to determine if the victim was in the crosswalk at the time he was hit, but right now the exact cause of the accident is unknown.
The victim, a man in his 70s was flown to a Santa Clara County hospital to be treated for his injuries.
Police closed down the 1000 to 1100 blocks of Pacific Avenue and Cathcart Street between Cedar and Front Street for several hours.
