Teen Boys Found With Replica Firearm Near School
Salinas police officers were dispatched Thursday afternoon to the area of Fremont School in reference to two juveniles, seen with firearms.
The officers located two 13-year-old boys in the area of First Avenue and East Market Street. Police detained the boys after they said both matched the description given by the witness.
Police told Central Coast News the boys denied having any weapons.
Ultimately both admitted they had replica firearms in the cooler area of the bicycle ice cream cart they were riding, said police.
According to Salinas police, the replica firearms were confiscated and the suspects were cited for city code violation of possessing a replica firearm, then released to their parents.
Police also released a photo of the replica firearms confiscated.
