How to Donate to the Victims of the Pfeiffer Fire in Big Sur

There are several ways to donate if you are interested in helping out. You can help some individual families or you can donate to the local Red Cross chapter.

Donations can be sent to the Red Cross Monterey Bay Chapter, P.O. Box AR, Carmel, CA 93921 or by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS. You can also donate to the local Red Cross online, just click here.

The Community Foundation for Monterey County (CFMC) has created The Big Sur Fire Fund to assist the Big Sur community in recovery efforts from the 2013 Pfeiffer Ridge Fire.

Those wishing to contribute to the fund can visit www.cfmco.org/bigsurfirefund, mail a check to the Community Foundation for Monterey County, 2354 Garden Road, Monterey, CA, 93940 “Attention: Big Sur Fire Fund,” or call 831.375.9712 Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 5:00 PM.

Cibo Ristorante Italiano in Monterey will be holding a fundraiser Friday night from 4:00 PM – 1:30 AM to help the victims of the Big Sur fire. Cibo will donate 20% of all food and bar sales to help the victims

Some families have set up funds through the donation website GoFundMe.com.

One of the people who lost their homes in the fire, a local artist named Kodiak Greenwood, has set up a donation site. You can find that here
