Salinas PD: Gas Station Clerk Unlocks Doors For Armed Robber
Salinas police are investigating an armed robbery of the Shell Gas Station on 458 E. Market St. early Sunday morning.
Officers said it happened around 3:41 a.m. They said the suspect went up to the window of the gas station and begged the clerk to let him in since the doors were locked. Police said he told the clerk he needed coffee. She let the suspect inside.
Police said the suspect grabbed a pack of beer and demanded all the money from the clerk, pointing a black handgun at her.
He got away in a white Ford Econoline van waiting for him.
