Huge Drug Bust Against the Mexican Cartel on the Central Coast
Officers from state, federal, and local agencies have been working on a five-month long investigation into a major narcotics operation dealing with trafficking and sales of large amounts of heroin on the Central Coast.
This drug ring has direct to Mexican drug cartels, said deputies.
Search warrants were served in San Luis Obispo County, Monterey County, and Riverside County and 15 people were arrested.
Before Wednesday’s bust, investigators recovered 2 1/4 pounds of heroin and one ounce of methamphetamine with a street value of more than $100,000. During Wednesday’s bust an additional quantity of suspected black tar heroin and heroin in pill form were seized.
The Sheriff’s Office is in the process of documenting and tabulating the quantity of narcotics seized. Drugs, guns, and money were also confiscated.
