Ten people displaced after their home catches fire in Marina, ‘total loss’; Marina Fire
MARINA, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Marina Fire responded to a fire they're calling Lake Structure Fire Incident at approximately 6:20 p.m. Wednesday night on the 3100 block of Lake Drive in Marina that displaced ten residents.
They said that fire partners from Seaside, North Monterey County, Monterey County Regional and Presidio of Monterey fire departments joined in the efforts to extinguish the fire, but despite efforts, the structure is a total loss.
People were inside the home but evacuated prior to crews arriving on scene, and by the time the fire department go there, the home was heavily involved in fire, according to Marina Fire. They said that one person who lived in the house but was not inside during the fire was transported to the hospital after saying they did not feel well.
There were no other injuries reported.
Marina Fire said that the investigation showed the fire started in the laundry room but the cause is still under investigation.
The people received immediate support from neighbors and the Red Cross.

MARINA, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Seven adults and three children are displaced after a fire started at a home on Wednesday night.
Marina firefighters say they got a call about the fire just after 6 p.m.
Firefighters say a cousin of the family members reported the fire, prompting the agency to respond.
Crews were able to put out the fire and say the Red Cross is stepping in to help the people displaced by the fire.
No injuries were reported.
