Pet of the Week: Meet Peeta!

Our Neighborhood Pet Project's first kitten of the New Year is Peeta, whose sister Katniss was featured as Pet of the Week around Thanksgiving. Peeta is a handsome short hair brown tabby boy and is part of the Hunger Games Litter. These kittens were surrendered by a King City resident who was unable to care for them. Peeta has been neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, and is ready to meet his furrever family!

Six-month-old Peeta and his sister are enjoying life in a foster home in Salinas. They’re always playing chase or wrestling with each other and have no shortage of toys and towers to entertain themselves with, not to mention the great outdoors they love to spend hours observing from the safety of their windows. Peeta has developed into a confident and happy kitten who adores spending time with his foster parents.

He really loves human attention and isn’t shy about demanding it. Peeta has always been a cuddler who
enjoys both conversations and long naps. He is a high energy kitten who would do well with a family looking for an affectionate and happy kitten and does well with young children and other cats.
Peeta and his sister are close and would love to be adopted together. Kittens adopted in pairs tend to adjust more quickly to their new homes as it reduces their stress and keeps them occupied
when their human family is not available. Of course, if you have a furry feline or other four-legged companion, he should adjust fairly quickly as well!

Our next adoption event will be in just over a week, at the Salinas Farmers Market, on January the 11th
,from 9 am until 2 pm. We will have both cats and dogs of all ages attending, so please stop by to meet
all of them!
