Family STEM day returns to Monterey Peninsula College Saturday

MONTEREY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Monterey Peninsula College (MPC) is holding their Family STEM Day on Saturday at 980 Fremont Street in Monterey from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The event is free and centered around science, fun and hands-on learning. It emphasizes science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through musical performances and community information tables.

MPC STEM students and faculty in both physical and life science labs will interactively explore activities that they hope will inspire curiosity and innovation.

Participants can expect STEM games, arts and crafts from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., face painting between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. as well as three different STEM-based learning zones.

The event will also have food, a giant slide and live performances, including Ballet Folklorico Aguila Real at 11:00 a.m and Everyday People at noon.

Families looking to participate can reserve free tickets on Eventbrite or visit Family Stem Day on the MPC website.
