Juvenile suspect in custody for alleged attempted murder; King City Police
KING CITY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- King City Police announced Friday that they have taken a 17-year-old male juvenile suspect from King City into custody for attempted murder.
They said that on December 4 at around 1:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Lynn Street after reports of a shooting.
When they got there, police say that they spotted two vehicles parked on Lynn Street with gunshot damage.
According to police, the investigation revealed that there was an altercation between people in both vehicles traveling on Lynn Street in opposite directions.
During the altercation, one of the people traveling eastbound left his vehicle and fired several rounds in the direction of the westbound-traveling car, according to police.
Although nobody was hit, officers say that both cars were damaged and multiple bullet casings were found at the intersection of Lynn and Russ streets.
The investigation exposed a person of interest and detectives, along with the help from many other local law enforcement agencies, were able to serve multiple search warrants throughout King City, according to police.
A 17-year-old male was taken into custody for his role in the shooting, and later booked into the Monterey County Juvenile Hall on charges including attempted murder, according to police.
The investigation is ongoing.
