KING CITY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- CHP announced Monday that a deadly crash took place early morning around 1 a.m. near 56000 Oasis Road in King City involving a solo vehicle.

They said the victim, identified as 55-year-old Cyril James Barbree, was driving a 1993 Jeep Wrangler heading west down a private road at an undetermined speed. According to CHP, Barbree's Jeep drifted towards the left side of the road and up onto a metal support post for a cattle guard.

They said that this overturned the Jeep and since Barbree was not wearing a seatbelt, CHP says that he was ejected from the vehicle and sustained blunt force head trauma.

The CHP says that alcohol and/or drug impairment do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
