COVID kills five more in Monterey County

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION) Five more people have died of COVID-19, according to the County of Monterey's Health Department.

One patient was under 55 years old. The other four were 65 years of age or older.

Two patients were Hispanic or Latino. One was white. The races and ethnicities of the last two patients remain unknown. It is also unknown if any of the five had pre-existing health conditions.

There have been 121 COVID-19 related deaths in Monterey County.

There are currently 4,000 active cases in the county, and 10,791 people have recovered.
