SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KION) The California Department of Public of Health said the movement of counties on or off the state's monitoring list is on hold until further notice.

The state has experienced data lag issues due to a technical issue. It has reportedly been fixed, but could take up to 48 hours before numbers are updated.

Counties on the monitoring list- including Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties- were ordered to close schools for in-person learning and indoor operations in several business sectors. Counties need to be off the monitoring list before they can reopen.
