New closures in place at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk following governor’s announcement
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION) Several parts of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk reopened last month, but an announcement by Gov. Gavin Newsom means more closures.
Previously, Neptune's Kingdom, mini golf, some boardwalk games and other areas reopened, but now rides, the Casino Arcade, Neptune's Kingdom, mini golf, laser tag, the Fright Walk and Boardwalk Bowl are closed.
Some food concessions, retailers and Coasters Grill are open, but Coasters Grill is open for outdoor dining only.
Indoor operations at restaurants, wineries, movie theaters, family entertainment centers, zoos, museums and cardrooms were ordered to close statewide. Bars were ordered to close all operations.
Those who visit the boardwalk are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
The boardwalk canceled its free concerts on the beach and movie nights on the beach this summer, but it has extended season passes through Dec. 31, 2021.
