Gov. Gavin Newsom orders closure of bars in several counties

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KION) Due to an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases reported in California, Gov. Gavin Newsom said he will be ordering bars in several counties to close and recommend closures in other counties.

The Governor has ordered bars to close in these counties:

  • Fresno
  • Imperial
  • Kern
  • Kings
  • Los Angeles
  • San Joaquin
  • Tulare

Newsom recommended closures in these counties:

  • Contra Costa
  • Riverside
  • Sacramento
  • San Bernardino
  • Santa Barbara
  • Santa Clara
  • Stanislaus
  • Ventura

Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties did not make the lists.
