Governor Newsom provides update on State’s COVID-19 response

California Governor Gavin Newsom is giving his daily update on the State's response to COVID-19.

As of April 8, there were more than 18,300 confirmed COVID-19 cases in California and 492 deaths.

According to Johns Hopkins University's Coronavirus Resource Center, there are more than 1.6 million cases worldwide and more than 100,000 deaths. More than 475,000 cases are in the US, and more than 18,000 have died in the US.
