MONTEREY, Calif. (KION) A spokesperson for the Artichoke Festival announced Wednesday that the event will be postponed due to coronavirus concerns.

It was originally scheduled for May 30 and 31, but will now be held on Aug. 8 and 9 at the Monterey County Fairgrounds and Event Center.

The festival will honor tickets purchased for the May event, and prices and ticket packages will stay the same.

In addition to changing dates, the Artichoke Festival had added Donate Now buttons to its website and said 100% of donations will be given to the Monterey County Food Bank, Manzanita Youth Playground, Monterey County PAL, Meals on Wheels Salinas and Monterey County Agricultural Education.
