Three California state prison employees test positive for COVID-19

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KION) UPDATED 3/22/20 10:45 p.m. An inmate at California State Prison-Los Angeles County has tested positive for COVID-19, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

PREVIOUS STORY 3/21/20 6:01 p.m.:

Three employees at California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation state prisons have tested positive for COVID-19.

In a news release, CDCR said one employee at California State Prison, Sacramento, and two employees at California Institution for Men have tested positive for COVID-19. 

CDCR also said the San Quentin State Prison employee previously reported to have tested positive was actually a negative case.

The agency said there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 among the incarcerated population.

Inmates arriving from county jail will be quarantined for a period of 14 days.
