SALINAS, Calif. (KION) The FDA announced that Fresh Express is recalling some of its expired salad kits due to possible E. coli contamination.

The kits being recalled are the 10.5 ounce Fresh Express Kit Caesar Supreme with a use-by-date of Nov. 8 and product code S296. The recall is being carried out in case it is still in stores or in homes. The product may have been sold in several western states, including California.

Nobody has reported getting sick, and the company learned of the possible contamination when a randomly selected package tested positive for the bacteria.

Anyone who has a kit under recall is asked to throw it away and not eat it.
