Number of reported E. coli cases linked to romaine lettuce jumps to 102

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) The number of reported E. coli cases linked to romaine lettuce grown in the Salinas area has grown to 102, according to the CDC.

The cases have been reported in 23 states and 58 people have been hospitalized. No deaths have been reported.

Last week, the CDC reported that there were 67 cases of E. coli, up from 27 the week before that.

Lettuce grown in Salinas is currently under a recall. The CDC suggests throwing away lettuce grown in Salinas and washing and sanitizing drawers or shelves where it was stored.
