Two candidates considered to fill a seat on the Greenfield City Council

GREENFIELD, Calif. (KION-TV) -- City of Greenfield council member Drew Tipton publicly announced his retirement effective immediately on October 15.

Now, the city is seeking to fill his vacancy on the council. They say that the position is set to end at the completion of 2024, but with the elections fast approaching, the city is considering two candidates.

Both Belen Garcia and Stephanie Garcia are running for the position in the upcoming election, according to the City of Greenfield.

Whichever candidate is selected, that person will fill the seat for the duration of the current term until taking their own term in the upcoming year.
