Escape Room 831 making face shields for health care workers
MONTEREY, Calif. (KION) A local business facing a break from normal duties is using the time to help those on the front lines of the fight against coronavirus.
Escape Room 831, one of the businesses that had to shut down during the Shelter in Place, is making face shields for local health care workers.
The company's fabricator, Scott Rush, has been using a 3D printer to make eight to 10 face shields every day, and Rush hopes to have 100 available by the time they are finished.
The escape room said that supplies are limited and sourcing has been difficult.
“It isn’t the one million protective face shields Apple has committed to making weekly, but it is available to the local health care community for their use,” said owner Barrie Riddoch. “We are part of the community and we just wanted to do our share to help in any way we can.”
Escape Room 831, which was started in 2018, is located on Lighthouse Avenue in Monterey.
