‘You’re going to die’: Omaha police arrest man they say threatened officers, then drove at them

    OMAHA, Nebraska (KETV) — Omaha police arrested a man they say threatened officers before driving at them.

Investigators say it began just before 4 p.m. Sunday when officers saw a woman running from a truck into the New Victorian Inn. They say the license plate check revealed the truck was stolen from Council Bluffs.

As officers went to arrest the woman, they say Richard Miller, 33, drove off in the stolen truck. Officers say Miller came back into the parking lot driving recklessly, stopped and began making threats. OPD says Miller told officers “you’re going to die” while revving the engine before driving at them and speeding away.

Officers later spotted the vehicle at N. 78th Street and Hillside and a chase began. OPD says Miller bailed from the vehicle at S. 68th and Leavenworth Streets.

A K9 unit tracked the 33-year-old to a shed in a backyard on S. 68th. Police say Miller refused to comply with multiple commands. A K9 was deployed and arrested the suspect.

After being treated at a hospital, officers booked Miller on multiple charges including attempted felony assault on an officer. He was also wanted on a felony warrant out of Cass County.

Officers also booked the woman, Calista Caudillo, 29, on unlawful occupancy and obstruction charges.
