Man arrested for allegedly making threats to coworkers and others; Capitola Police

CENTRAL COAST, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Tuesday morning Capitola Police said that they teamed up with CIU Detectives to serve search warrants in both the City of Capitola and Salinas simultaneously for alleged criminal threats.

They said that over the past few days police have been investigating an adult male suspect who was threatening his coworkers as well as other people. During the investigation, police say that they were able to deem the threats "serious in nature and credible."

"The investigation revealed the suspect had made specific statements and taken actions indicating that he would shoot people," announced Capitola Police on Facebook.

According to police, the suspect has been taken into custody without incident and booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.

The police report collecting four firearms and several related items, with protection orders granted by a Superior Court Judge.

They said that they do not believe there is any further threat to public safety at this time.
