The City of Capitola is hiring a new police chief

CAPITOLA, Calif. (KION-TV) – The hiring of a new police chief is underway in the City of Capitola.

Chief Andrew Dally has announced his intention to retire at the end of the 2024 year. 

The Capitola City Agenda Report has stated that the City Manager’s Department needs to begin the hiring process in order to prepare for Chief Dally’s retirement, after being named Police Chief for three years. 

The report also states that the City Manager will select the candidate based on interviews and internal review. 

The City says that interviews should begin in mid to late September and a new Police Chief should be in place by November of this year.
