Rocky Creek Bridge construction update; full overnight closures expected

BIG SUR, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Cal Trans announced that it will be continuing construction work on Highway 1 near the Rocky Creek Bridge next week as ongoing repair work continues in Big Sur.

Cal Trans confirmed that there will be five consecutive, full overnight closures from Sunday, Oct. 6 thru Thursday, Oct. 10 between 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

They say that there's another full road closure taking place next Friday from 11:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m.

"The estimate for completion of the Rocky Creek viaduct is summer 2025 and is dependent on conditions encountered during construction," according to Cal Trans.
