NEW YORK (AP) — Donald Trump’s former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen is expected to take the stand as the prosecution’s star witness in the first criminal trial of a former U.S. president. The witnesses in the New York hush money case include porn actor Stormy Daniels, a former tabloid publisher and Cohen, who went to federal prison for his role in the hush money matter and for other crimes, including lying to Congress. Prosecutors forewarned prospective jurors the witnesses have “what you might consider to be some baggage.” The trial centers on allegations Trump falsified records to hide the true nature of reimbursement payments to Cohen. The Republican former president denies doing anything wrong.
