BERLIN (AP) — German authorities say two cargo ships have collided in the North Sea off the German coast and one vessel sank. At least one sailor died and rescuers were trying to find another four. Germany’s Central Command for Maritime Emergencies said the Polesie and Verity ships collided early Tuesday about 22 kilometers or 14 miles southwest of the island of Helgoland. The British-flagged Verity sank shortly after the collision. Two sailors were rescued. Several rescue ships and aircraft taking part in the search hadn’t located the missing crew members by mid-afternoon.
