MONROVIA, Liberia (AP) — Liberian President George Weah will face off against challenger Joseph Boakai in a Nov. 14 runoff vote. It will be the second time the two politicians face each in a second round of balloting. Back in 2017, Weah ultimately prevailed with 60% of the runoff vote. He won that election amid high hopes brought about by his promise to fight poverty and generate infrastructure development. But opponents say he failed to live up to those campaign promises. This time around, Weah received 43.83% of the first roundvote, the commission announced Tuesday. Boakai led a crowded field of challengers with 43.44%.
