After losing home to CZU Fire, family has to rebuild again after losing relocation home to fire

BOULDER CREEK, Calif. (KION-TV) UPDATE ON NOV 2, 2023 AT 3:50 PM- A family has to restart their life yet again after losing their Boulder Creek home on Sunday. Just three years after losing their home in the CZU Fire in 2020.

Eric and Heidi McFarland said they are " at an all-time low, and completely lost for words after losing our home for the 2nd time to fire."

The McFarlands are unable to rebuild for a second time and are asking the public for help. The family has three kids, one of whom was living in their home at the time. The family has called Boulder Creek home for 30 years.

Family's home destroyed in Boulder Creek fire

A family is without a home tonight after a fire started in their home Sunday afternoon.

Boulder Creek Fire said they were able to control the fire, but not before flames already ripped through much of the home.

The fire at Greenvale and Blair roads left the family devastated, including a young boy who saw some of his favorite belongings burned in the fire.

Boulder Creek Fire said their agency, along with Felton, Ben Lomond and CAL FIRE CZU worked to provide some cheer to the family, replacing the boy's lost Playstation and basketball.

CAL FIRE CZU battling a structure fire that spread into vegetation in Boulder Creek

CAL FIRE CZU said that forward progress has stopped on a two-story structure fire that spread into vegetation on Sunday afternoon.

CAL FIRE says that air tankers were released and that forward progress was stopped at one acre in the area of Greenvale and Blair Roads.

There is no word if anybody was inside the structure at the time of the fire and how badly the structure was damaged.
