Texas counties trying to prevent people from using roads to get an abortion grows

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — A Texas county near New Mexico has banned helping people traveling to get an abortion. Lubbock County is now the largest of four Texas counties that have adopted a version of the measure. It’s part of new efforts by conservatives to further restrict abortion access since the fall of Roe v. Wade. The ordinances are enforced through lawsuits filed by private citizens but so far no cases have been brought under ordinances passed elsewhere. Texas is one of 13 states that bans abortion at all stages of pregnancy.
