Man wounds himself after Georgia officers seek to question him about 4 jail escapees, sheriff says

MACON, Ga. (AP) — Investigators say they found a Georgia murder suspect who had been missing more than seven months while looking for four men who escaped from jail. Deputies say a woman told them on Monday that Christian Demond Williams had shot and wounded himself after someone shot through the door of a Macon apartment at officers. Bibb County Sheriff David Davis tells reporters that U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force went to the apartment on a tip about a man with information about the escapes. Deputies say the man was in critical condition Monday at a Macon hospital. Officers arrested the woman at the apartment and charged her with aiding an escape.
