Bicyclist injured in hit-and-run, police looking for two suspects involved
HOLLISTER, Calif. (KION-TV)- Hollister Police said a male adult is expected to survive after he was hit and dragged by a pickup truck on Sunday night.
Police said they got reports of a vehicle vs pedestrian collision around 9:45 p.m. that took place at a Chevron gas station on 7th Street and San Benito Street.
When police got to the scene, they did not find evidence of a collision. A witness told an officer that the victim who was riding his bike left the scene and took himself to Hazel Hawkins Hospital.
Officers got to the hospital and learned that the victim got into an altercation with two men who were in a pickup truck at the Chevron gas station.
Hollister Police said that the two men followed the bicyclist to the 300 block of Swope Alley where they said the truck ran over the bicyclist and dragged the victim before fleeing the scene.
The male adult suffered head injuries but is expected to survive. The incident is still under investigation.
